Lets have faith that right makes might; and in that faith let us, to the end, dare to do our duty as we understand it.
FAITH in Agawam, Massachusetts
When I think about Royal Family KIDS Camp (RFKC) and the word ‘FAITH,’ I am always amazed by how God has been faithful in so many ways, year after year. I have always believed that RFK camps have a special place in God’s Heart because of the children we serve.
This will be our 22nd year of holding camp. We haven’t been on the church budget since those first two years of camp, as we have seen the Lord miraculously provide funds every year thereafter. We definitely do our part by holding an annual golf tournament to support the camp, but that only covers a third of the cost. The rest of our funding has come from various, unexpected sources. Again …. constantly amazes me, builds my faith over and over again, and reinforces just how important the children we serve are to God.
This is not the only area of the ministry that God has shown His faithfulness. Recruiting the right staff to fill all the different positions needed, and making sure the children are actually able to come to camp each year are areas by which God has provided.
God has a purpose and a plan for each staff member, as well as for each child that is a part of camp.
I hope that these thoughts I have shared in this short account will be an encouragement to anyone who is considering starting a camp. I also hope it encourages anyone who is considering a director position at a RFK camp—those who are concerned initially by challenges that might potentially surface.
As conveyed, I believe that the ministry of Royal Family KIDS and its camps has a special place in God’s heart. He will assist—to all who ask, in securing what is needed to make camp a reality.
For the Children,
Peter Patterson, Director RFK camp, Agawam, Massachusetts
