“To trust God in the light is nothing, but trust Him in the dark — that is faith.” ~C.H. Spurgeon
FAITH in Los Angeles County
This year, Cornerstone Church West Los Angeles took a huge leap of faith by choosing to launch a camp for the first time! We are deeply thankful for our pastors, as they have never experienced a Royal Family KIDS (RFK) camp, yet desired to trust in God and our team to equip our church body with the people and tools it needed to make camp happen.
We sent three people from our team to camp director’s training not knowing what to expect? We started the journey with questions that weighed heavy on our hearts: Would our church congregation respond well and want to be part of it? Would we have enough volunteers or enough money? Would anyone even care?
We have seen God answer these questions so abundantly and graciously beyond our wildest expectations. Since making only two fundraising and recruitment announcements in the past few months, we have raised almost 85% of our fundraising goal. In addition, we have filled half of our volunteer positions, and we receive more applications each week. We have been absolutely amazed at our church’s enthusiasm to donate their time, energy, and resources in order to see this camp become a reality!
With four more months left to plan camp, we have felt so encouraged that God is watching over us and providing all that we need, both practically and spiritually … every step of the way.
